Mordrelle 2017 Sauvignon Blanc (Doz)
Tasting Notes
Mordrelle Wines
2017 Sauvignon Blanc
The grapes were handpicked, whole bunch pressed and fermented under cold temperatures to maintain fruit integrity. Citrus and passion fruit aromas are predominant and combine with a hint of herbs and spices . The extended time spent on lees adds texture and hits of brioche.
Alcohol 12.5%
A note from CleanskinsOnline
This wine has more to it on the palate than your average Sauvignon Blanc, and that is because Martin chose to put the wine on lees, which adds an extra dimension and a slightly fuller style. He also used minimal filtration so there may be on the odd bit of sediment at the bottom of the bottle.
These wines don’t have a label, but this does not distract from the amazing taste & quality. I love to enjoy this wine all by itself, but if I must eat with it, then keep the flavours simple and fresh, like a chicken & avocado salad.
If you check out Mordrelle web site you will see that all the labels depict artwork created from Martin’s’ father.
